TEAM DESCRIPTION

Our Business Operations team sets and drives key business initiatives while building the financial infrastructure to scale our growing company. We complement and support product, engineering, and sales teams across three critical areas: accounting and finance, business planning and sales operations, and analytics for strategic decisions.


ROLE DESCRIPTION

As the General Accounting Manager at Urbandoor, you will supervise, track, and evaluate day-to-day activities. The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas related to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. You will also work closely with our Product & Development teams to automate accounting processes; as well as the payment process for both customers and providers. There is a tremendous opportunity to grow in this position working directly with our Head of Business Operations. You’ll be helping us build and support our growing marketplace!


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop initiatives which will automate accounting processes across the Company.

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

  • Review and post journal entries, prepare account reconciliations, and respond to inquiries from various departments regarding financial statements and general ledgers.

  • Establish the development of accounting policies and operations for new accounting initiatives and business processes.

  • Manage monthly, quarterly and year end close and ensure financial statements are prepared timely and accurately.

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly & quarterly reporting packages to management and our investors.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Supply & Demand Teams in order to understand the broader business objectives.

  • Maintain financial security by establishing internal controls.

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

  • Public accounting experience

  • Experience creating accounting memos and process documentation

  • Experience implementing and improving business processes and systems
